Madden 2012 Cover Pick
The Madden video game comes out each year and every year has a player who performed outstandingly during the previous season on the cover of the game. Throughout the 2011 season there was many outstanding players. Aaron Rodgers had a phenomenal season was was voted the MVP of the Super Bowl. The Atlanta Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan also had an outstanding season. He threw for 28 touchdowns, a total of 3,705 yards, and only threw a total of 9 interceptions. Even though these two players had great seasons the two players who were put up for voting was Michael Vick and Peyton Hillis. I personally believe Michael Vick should have won, but he didn’t. Vick is an amazing quarterback that really proved himself this year. Michael Vick has always been a scrambling quarterback, but this past season he became the complete quarterback. His passing game improved so much that I believe he was the biggest threat in the NFL. He could run for a gain almost every time and he could throw the perfect pass nearly everytime. Vick completed nearly 70 percent of his passes, only threw a total of 6 interceptions, threw for 21 touchdowns, a total of 3,018 yards, ran for 9 touchdowns, rushing yards totaled up to 676 yards, and he averaged 6.8 yards per carry. With those stats and the fact that I watched almost all of his games, I don’t see why he didn’t get the cover of Madden. Michael Vick was runner up to Peyton Hillis. Hillis won with 66 percent of all votes. Hillis is an amazing athlete and at the beginning of this season nobody would have guessed he would be as good as he was. It was kind of a shocker that Hillis performed the way he did. Proving people wrong is nothing new to Hillis. After being traded to Cleveland as part of a bigger deal for QB Brady Quinn, the little-known back barged his way on to the roster and ran for an impressive 1,177 yards and 11 touchdowns in a breakout 2010 season. Hillis also averaged 4.4 yards per carry , 7.8 yards per catch, and had a total of eight fumbles. These are amazing stats, but I just don’t see how he could be considered as a better asset than Michael Vick. They are both amazing athletes , and Peyton Hillis won the cover, but I completely disagree with 66 percent of the people who voted for him over Michael Vick.

Clark,
ReplyDeleteI have a friend that just LOVES that game. Sometimes we will go over to visit and he is just sitting in his pajamas with the lights off, sitting in his favorite good ole' recliner. He always has the recliner pulled up closer to the television when he is playing that game. Whenever a new one comes out, he will lock himself in a room with that game until he has played enough to stop for a while. Anyway, he said the same thing that you did! He wishes that Michael Vick would have got it to. I have to agree too! I like Michael Vick better!
